Joshua Malik is our founder and chief executive officer. Since July 2005, Mr. Malik has also served as founder and CEO of our affiliate, Joshua Tree Inc. From 1992 to 2005, Mr. Malik served in many roles in the tree care industry, including field operations and training, marketing and sales management, and financial budgeting.
Matthew Spiece has served as our general manager since 2022. Prior to that, he served as our systems information manager and as operations manager of Joshua Tree Inc. He has developed many of our company’s systems and processes. Before joining Joshua Tree Experts, Mr. Spiece served as operations manager of Zeo Brothers Productions in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, where he managed crew scheduling, trucking logistics, equipment management, rental inventory control, and information technology.
Christopher Cooper has served as our corporate controller since 2022. Prior to joining Joshua Tree Experts, Mr. Cooper served as an accountant supervisor at Cross American Partners in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he managed a real estate portfolio of over 1,000 properties. Mr. Cooper supervises our finance, client service, and IT departments, and provides support to our operations department with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Thomas Armstrong VP of Franchise Operations
Tom Armstrong has served as our vice president of franchise operations since 2023. He has spent over 40 years in the green industry and has made a name as a prominent figure in the world of arboriculture. Throughout his career, he has served in various business development roles throughout the tree care industry. Mr. Armstrong is an ISA-certified arborist, a certified tree care safety professional, a CA-licensed tree care contractor, and a licensed pesticide applicator.
Christine is the Director of Franchise Support, where she plays a pivotal role in the success of new franchisees. With a strong background in business development and sales experience, she is essential to the onboarding process for new franchise locations. Christine ensures that operational standards are met according to planned project timelines. She collaborates closely with the finance, operations, and marketing teams, focusing on key areas throughout each phase of the franchise onboarding process.
Dylan DeGroat has served as our director of franchise development since 2023. For two years prior, he served as our recruiting and training coordinator. He has also served as field supervisor at Joshua Tree Inc. He is also a veteran of the Army National Guard and completed one tour in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. As director of franchise development, Mr. DeGroat helps guide franchisees through the development process and acts as their primary point of contact.
Melissa Napolitano is Joshua Tree Experts’ director of marketing. Prior to joining Joshua Tree Experts, she served in various roles across the commercial real estate and property management sectors. Her deep industry knowledge, strategic acumen, and creative flair is an invaluable resource for our franchisees. As director of marketing, Ms. Napolitano leads the strategic direction of marketing initiatives for Joshua Tree Experts and our franchise network.
