Joshua Tree Experts, a Pennsylvania-based home services franchise specializing in tree maintenance, lawn care and pest control, is set to expand its operations into Pittsburgh. This expansion is led by Seth and Caleb Hill, a father-and-son team who plan to open two franchise territories in the area on March 1, 2024.
The idea of franchising with Joshua Tree Experts first came to Caleb, 27, while he was serving with the Army in Iraq. During his tour, he had discussions with Dylan DeGroat, the director of franchise development for Joshua Tree Experts, about the potential of the family business. This conversation sparked Caleb's interest in exploring the franchise opportunity. Seth, Caleb's father, brings over two decades of experience in manufacturing engineering to the venture. His transition into this new business endeavor came after he was laid off during the pandemic, prompting him to seek new opportunities.
Although the Hills had previously considered starting their own business and even opened an LLC for real estate work, they found the prospect daunting. However, the guidance provided by the franchise model of Joshua Tree Experts offered them a more structured and less intimidating pathway into business ownership.
Joshua Tree Experts encourages franchisees to own the land and equipment they need to operate the business, allowing them to scale more quickly and continue to build wealth for themselves and their families. Plus, with three green services in one — tree care, lawn care and pest control — its “Joshua Tree Three” business model allows franchisees to capture a larger share of the booming market.
“The industry is really booming right now, and single-family homes, our target demographic, account for the largest component of that market,” said Joshua Malik, founder and CEO of Joshua Tree Experts. “It is the recurring revenue that we want franchisees to know can be a great asset to their business.”
Joshua Tree Experts is looking at the following markets to continue its growth: New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
